This project is a work in progress, begun in July of 2024. In collaboration with Eco Poet Leslie LaChance, I am creating a short film based on her poem “What They Are Saying”, which speaks to connection of whales over great distances through their songs. This poem became a metaphor for human’s messages about the climate to people across the globe. Filmed in the South Harpeth River in Nashville, Tennessee, a short film will direct viewers to a yet-to-be-discovered-or-created website in which people from across the globe can post their simple message to others about the climate through words, poetry, music, visual art, or film, and access Climate Action Steps. My hope is that we can eventually host online Narrative 4 Story Exchange about climate stories and concerns, and become a global portal for connection through art and story for climate action.
I’d love to connect with people interested in helping me locate an pre-existing website that could host these messages and connection options, or find funding to create and moderate a new one. Contact me here.
