This project is a work in progress, begun in July of 2024. In collaboration with Eco Poet Leslie LaChance, I created a short film based on her poem “What They Are Saying”, which speaks to the connection of whales over great distances through their songs. This poem became a metaphor for humans’ messages about the climate to people across the globe. Filmed in the South Harpeth River in Nashville, Tennessee, a short film will direct viewers to a website in which people from across the globe can post their simple message to others about the climate through words, poetry, music, visual art, or film, and access Climate Action Steps. My hope is that we can eventually host online Narrative 4 Story Exchange about climate stories and concerns, and become a global portal for connection through art and story for climate action.
I hope to announce a host website and launch a social media page before the end of 2024. If you’re interested in being involved in this project or want to know more, Contact me here. And stay tuned for how you can participate in and spread the word about The Human Climate Song project.
