My formal educational background is in journalism and writing, with an Honors Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and majors in both journalism and English. An ongoing project which I was asked to “commandeer” in the Fall of 2009 is the literary arts webzine, Nashville Skyline. In the last 10 years the group of contributing writers has shifted, and we have evolved from a quarterly, theme-based publication to publishing when inspiration hits.
Personal essay is the style I to which I am most drawn. “Body Language Ephemerals” and “Moonlight Quilt” are among many published personal essays.
I also write guidebooks for TPAC Education, a leader in arts education. Some of the guideboooks I have authored include those for Nashville Ballet’s 72 Steps, Nadine Bommer Dance, Air Play, Arch 8, Pilobolus, Freedom Sings, Cas Public, Ballet Hispanico, Diavolo Dance Theater, MOMIX and Urban Bush Women. Guidebooks for other arts disciplines include Freedom Sings and Cranked.
